REGISTERED 501(C)(3) TAX-EXEMPT ORGANIZATION
The Ohio Valley Environmental Advocates (OVEA) is excited to introduce the OVEA Expert Series Podcast, a platform dedicated to meaningful discussions on environmental justice, public health, and sustainable development in the Ohio Valley. Each episode brings together diverse voices—small business owners, farmers, community leaders, policymakers, and public health professionals—to explore topics that align with OVEA’s mission of promoting healthier industries, empowering communities, and advancing public health.
Dr. Yuri Gorby discussed local efforts for air monitoring. He discussed OVEA and FWAP's role on the EPA Air Monitoring grant, recent local readings, and the impacts of cumulative air pollution.
Community benefits are one way to bring concrete and needed benefits and protections when new economic developments come to town. OVEA joined with Fair Shake Community Democracy lead, Meagan Neibler, to learn what community benefits are, why these are a powerful tool for the community to have a legally binding voice in the process, and how you can play a role in making sure that the community has clean air and water, trees and parks, quiet streets, and healthy jobs.
